Another one bites the dust...

5 game losing streak. At home. Feels weird doesn't it? And not the good "Voice is starting to crack and getting hair in funny places" weird.

The problem from what I heard tonight was frankly trying to hit the ball out of the park, with the wind howling in. Sheesh. Randy Wolf was just serving 'em up over the plate and daring the hitters to hit it out. Yes Wiggington did hit one out, but it was a line drive, not a power bomb. Remember the good ole' days when the hitters hit into the gap? The opposite way?

Eh well. The Brewers and Cardinals have sucked just as much. Better to suck now than suck in October...

A minute, no more, no less...

Hey Chicago what do you say?

The Cubs are gonna lose to a minor league team...

That was painful. But it was a Marquis start. Since he is officially #5, (though one could argue that in a different context, he's #2) any wins he gives us are a bonus. It wasn't a bad start, just no clutch hitting. Second and third, bases loaded, no hits. Sad, especially after the pasting we gave to Milwaukee.

No Bay, No Nady, No Sanchez, No Marte...

Why do the kids always make us look so bad?

Go Braves, Go Phillies...

Ladies and Gentlemen...Our sluggers...

Ramirez isn't allowed to play on the road any more...I'm not serious about that, but 0-fer Astros, 0-fer Diamondbacks.

Marquis is pitching tomorrow...Great...Lovely...Marvelous...

The bats fell asleep on the plane again. Maybe we should put these guys in buses so they dont' sleep so well at night. The Cubs do have this winning at home thing down, but 2 hits against Randy Johnson. 7 years ago, I'd be celebrating that. Tonight it just pisses me off...

Note to Cubs: A 360 foot out is still an OUT.

Harden's stuff was weird. Balls were either up, or in the dirt. His strikes were STRIKES. Missed a lot of bats. Except one of course...

Seems appropriate that the winning run tonight was #$%head's first career HR. Sucks that it came off Harden, but right now he's gotta be thinking "What the hell do I have to DO???"

That's a minute, which is about how long this game lasted...Goes quick when you get 2 hits doesn't it?
