161 to go...
Z pitches well. Soriano and Ramirez do what they do best. Sadly, so do Lee and Fuku. The Hoff comes through. Gregg gets the save. Bradley only tanks one ball in the OF. 20 games.....20 games.....
All good times. Sure Gregg's ERA is 9. who's gonna notice a little thing like that?
The secoind best part of the day - Fat Bastard got lit up in Baltimore....Just something about him being on the Brewers and annoying us like a mosquito in our ear just makes me hope he fails...and fails bad. But hey, he's not even in our league any more. So let's not burn up too many minutes on him. Rickie Weeks - still sucks donkey BA115.
Important point of the day - Z is no longer winless in openers...

Woo-hoo!
Boy...those Mets fans sure were excited to beat our minor league team. woo-hoo. Are the Mets really that sad? Well, yeah. I guess so. Man just seeing some of those fan closeups during the series - those are some PO'ed people...like more po'ed than normal New Yorkers. I guess a crappy bullpen will do that to ya.
And speaking of which - our bullpen hasn't been all that wonderful of late. Gaudin, Samardzija, Howry. None of them are really blowing my skirt up these days.
The Hoff had a great day. Gotta love that. Great enough for a playoff spot? Eeeeeeehhhh...that's still TBD. But it sure was a good start.
Now all that needs to be done is b-slap the Boo-hoo crew once more so we get the "Lay-zin' Mets" in round 1, and we're golden. Not to mention, I'd sure like th eopportunity to beat that fat bee-otch one last time...

"Sabathia did not cruise through this start like some of his others, but that did not stop him from preserving his perfect record with Milwaukee and helping his new team to its eighth straight victory,"
GAWD this bugs me. We had that fat bee-otch in the L column but bomb Howry f'ed it up. What did I tell you all?? 5 and 1 sounds a lot worse than 5 and 0. Now everyone's like "oh he's perfect" and "he's unbeatable".
THE CUBS F-ING BEAT HIM LIKE THE LITTLE BEE-OTCH THAT HE IS!!! He fled from the game in the 7th inning with his tail between his beefy legs. We HAD him but Bomb Howry pissed it away and for that I've had to live through three weeks of "Perfect" Sabathia.
F Bomb Howry, F CC Sabathia, F the "Boo-hoo" Crew, and F all the sports writers who tend to ignore arguably CC's most important start that he blew like a $2 hooker in a back alley.
A minute is a bitter pill to swallow.

CC in a sling...
That's my prediction for the off season. The Brewers are in a win-win situation here. They dumped a couple of prospects for a rental player. Here's the thing. They can run that fat ba$7ard out there every day if they want to for the rest of the season. What do they care? When was the last time you have the oil changed on a rental car? Same thing here.
The Brewers should not give a rat's patootie how CC feels on Nov 1. He will no longer be their problem. They're not bringing him back. not unless they strike oil in centerfield at the park or something. I just hope CC and his agent are closely monitoring this situation. Because come off season, his huge paycheck could turn into an AARP check real quick.
Just a minute for your thoughts...
And PS - if the Cubs HAD gotten him...same argument...

off day...
So the Cubs put the cap on a nice series yesterday. I just love it when the opposing team boots a ball and we turn it into 5 runs...And Chris Carpenter left the game on a medical...Hello Mark Mulder - where ya been? If that's not enough to drive the final nail into the coffin, I don't know what is...
So the Brewers won today - a-holes. The Diamondbacks picked up Adam "Dunn hit ball with little stick!!" (It sounds a lot funnier when I _say_ it, but anyway. Do they really think Dunn is the answer? Nothing against the guy, but boy oh boy, I hope the Dodgers don't have anything planned for October - they'll be busy. At least for 4 games while the Cubs wipe the floor with them. I'm factoring in one loss since we did split the series in LA this year.
Following that, if I had to pick the Phillies/Marlins/Mets vs Brewers, I'm going to have to go Brewers. History has proven though that we can beat them. It'll be an interesting series. I'm thinking Sheets v Zambrano, Sabathia v Harden, Parra v Dempster and with all the extra off days the networks throw in, prolly Sheets v Zambrano again. Or possbily Lilly v Busch? Not even sure where the Brewers rotation depth goes after Parra. We'll see...
I don't even know enough about the AL to make any predictions...

Howry.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the game yesterday, but I REALLY wanted to BEAT CC. 4 - and - 1, MF'er. But enter Gofer Howry, or possbily "Bomb" Howry. Throws a low-outside pitch to Russel Branyon. WHO THE HECK THROWS A LOW-OUTSIDE PITCH TO RUSSEL BRANYON. The fact that he can't hit a pitch above his shoelaces is well-documented...
Again, great win, so that rules. A buddy of mine asked if we should have a bet - who gets more wins - Harden or Gaudin? Not funny, but funny.
If I can figure out how to do a poll, maybe I'll put Bomb or Gopher up for a vote...
There's a minute for ya. Let's kick the crap out of Sheets

Brews Vs. Cubs
So here's an interesting series. Cubs need 2 to leave town in first place by themselves. So who's got more pressure? The Brewers are the chasers, this is true. The Cubs leaving town 1 back won't kill them, but will drive Cubs fans into a panic.
Bottom line - CC's tired - 3 complete games in a row. Without a lot of first-pitch swinging, he won't go 9. Sheets is a injury waiting to happen. He's also prone to steals. Cubbies better be running like jackrabbits tomorrow. Get them out of the game early - 6th or 7th inning, and we've got a good chance. Deep counts. I know I said that yesterday, but this is emphasis. The Brewers bullpen is an accident waiting to happen. Also keep an eye on Bill Hall in the late innings. He's on a bit of a hot streak. And we already know about Braun and Fielder.
If the Cubs win 3 of 4, I'm extatic. If they lose 3 of 4, it's not horrible, but it will certainly ruin my week. My best realistic hope - 2 of 4. I can live with that.
But also consider - the Cubs are 1 sweep away from just about burying the Brewers...Cross your fingers Cubs fans. They ARE on the road...[shudder]

CC See ya...
Freakin' Brewers! Who said they can have a shot at the division?? Bad enough we have to deal with the overachieving Cardinals. Now they're getting a Cy Young winner for two third graders and a bag of balls? Ok, so LaPorte is a "Hot prospect". Want me to name some other Hot Prospects? Corey Patterson? Felix Pee-AAA? Hot prospect. Like we don't have a prospect or two to throw to the Indians...Actually we don't.
The gauntlet has been thrown Hendry. Think we can survive with Lilly being our number 2? 5 seconds? 4....3....NO! Now get on the phones. And if you counter with Randy Wolf, I swear I'll wait until you get married and then slap your wife!
Ok, that's my minute.
